Toshiko Mori, Principal

Toshiko Mori, FAIA is the founding principal of Toshiko Mori Architect PLLC, and the Robert P. Hubbard Professor in the Practice of Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD). She was previously chair of the Department of Architecture from 2002-2008. She is a graduate of the Cooper Union Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture and holds an honorary master’s degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. In 2022, she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt University. She has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2016 and the American Academy of Arts and Letters since 2020, where she is currently Vice President of Architecture.

She participates in international symposia and conferences and has lectured at universities across the country and around the world. Her projects have been the focus of several publications, including the February 2020 issue of A+U magazine. Mori has won numerous awards including the Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters; the AIA New York Chapter Medal of Honor; the 2016 ACSA Tau Sigma Delta National Honor Society Gold Medal; the AIA/ACSA Topaz Medallion for Excellence in Architectural Education; Architectural Record’s Women in Architecture Design Leader Award; Isamu Noguchi Award; and most recently the Philip Hanson Hiss Award in 2023 and Asia Society Asia Arts Game Changer Award in 2024. Architectural Digest has featured Mori in its annual AD100 list since 2014 and named Mori to the AD100 Hall of Fame in 2023; she was also named an Elle Decor A-List Titan. Mori was guest editor of Domus magazine for 2023.

Jordan MacTavish, AIA, Associate

Jordan MacTavish is an architect and designer based out of Los Angeles. He joined TMA in 2012 and has since worked on a diverse range of projects, from cultural and institutional buildings to residential and exhibition-related projects. Jordan received his Bachelor's Degree in Art History at Carleton College and his M. Arch from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Rachel Coulomb, AIA, Architect

Rachel Coulomb is a designer at TMA who holds her M. Arch. I from Harvard's Graduate School of Design B.S.Arch. from the University of Cincinnati. She has previously practiced with offices in New York, Copenhagen, Los Angeles and San Francisco. She is currently working on the New York City flagship office for an international media company.

Charles Burke, Architectural Designer

Charles Burke is a designer working at TMA. He holds an M. Arch I and M. Des in History and Philosophy of Design from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Charles has worked at TMA since 2019 on notable projects and publications, including 2019’s monograph Observations, the design of Sean Kelly Gallery, Los Angeles, and as deputy guest editor for Toshiko during her 2023 Domus Magazine guest editorship. Charles is currently supervising several projects in the office ranging from exhibitions and residences to the maintenance facility and comfort station at Hudson River Park’s Pier 97.

Sol Yoon, Architectural Designer

Sol Yoon is a designer working at TMA who holds her M.Arch II from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and B.Arch from Syracuse University. Since joining TMA in 2019 Sol’s contributed to projects spanning multiple scales and typologies including residential, cultural and institutional. Sol is currently leading as project manager and design lead of Phase II of the Brooklyn Public Central Library Interior Renovation Master Plan.

Seojeong Yun, Architectural Designer

Seojeong Yun is a designer at TMA. She holds an M.Arch II from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a B.Arch from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Her experience includes work on cultural and public buildings in Washington, D.C. She is currently contributing to the Brooklyn Public Library project.

Sophie Gfoehler, Architectural Designer

Sophie Gfoehler is a designer who has worked in the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States on projects of various scales, often with a focus on housing. She holds an M.Arch from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and degrees from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the University of Chester.

Enkela Malaj, Financial Manager

Enkela Malaj joined the TMA team as Financial Manager in Fall 2024. She plays an important role in planning and operations, project budgeting systems, strategic decisions, and reporting on the financial performance of all projects.

Max Graves, Office Manager

Max Graves is TMA's Office Manager. He holds a B. A. in Architecture from Columbia University.
